Rabbi Hershi had the idea to put the 10 mitzvot of Jewish life in the beautiful synagogue. The Stained Glass with gold leaf and crystals are there to help beautifying the sanctuary.

Kosher, Chabat, Tefillin, Mezuzah, Prayer, Thora, Tzedakah: Charity, Mikvah, The Children, The Love for Israel

The project got delayed from the Pandemic in 2020 when Master Artist Dana York

had to change her trip 4 times. We try to make them at the distance, but we did not get the size right, from that, the birth of the other 20 paintings. Another set of the 10 mitzvot are placed in the Grand Synagogue of Cannes in France.

Mark and Mandy Chester received splendidly Dana in Atlanta even with a basket of fruits and a card.

Shaun Krost helps with the installation of the Windows. This magic building by architect Arie Kohn, Is build by the donation of this community, so united. For long time the community met in a actual trailer placed on the land until the synagogue was build and it is one of the biggest and most beautiful in the world.

Rabbi Hirshi prepared the 10 pieces of glass. Dana arrived Tuesday night in Atlanta, painted in a 2 days marathon, day and night in the calm of Avalon Alpharetta Hotel. She delivered them Thursday afternoon at the beautiful Synagogue with the great help of her friends Mark, Mandy & Rebeca.

Dana is the former vice-president of Bnei-Brith loge Chalom Cannes, in France. In 2018 she was invited to join the Academy of Art Science and Letters from Paris and received the silver medal for her artistic activity

Captivating the light, she uses the technique of inverse painting form the panels of light; inspired by the painting of temples and using gold technique of the school of Venice. The calligraphy is with China silk Ink, in reverse, her paintings represent the Jewish Frescos, with connotations from Talmud and the Thora but as well representation of the quotidian life.

Awarded Artist, Dana travels in Europe, Middle East. By choosing the medium of glass panel painting, she embraced the celebrated traditional art of the Ketubah, inspired by the 17th Century School of painting calligraphy and of the illumination of sacred manuscripts. Inspired by the images symbolics of marriage certificate Ketubah, after having studied the ancestral history of those, that goes back at the Aramaic sources, and use the forms, volumes, substances, and techniques for expressing the poetry of those Jewish marriage contracts.

In 2014 she leaves New York for French Riviera where she orients for new colors of blue emerald of the Mediterranean Sea. We find in her paintings Love, Tolerance, Peace, Generosity. Abundance with Tranquility In all those life scenes, we find, always the frame of the ketubah and the Talmudic writings.

When leaving the red period to enter the blue period inspired by the reflexes of the Mediterranean Sea and the blue sky of Cote d Azur. All the shades of blue are found pastel blue, lavender blue, metallic blue, transparent, or emerald… also garlands of flowers, angels that dance, sirens, and rainbows in the sky. The gold leaf of 22 k changes its light depending on the time of the day.

She was mentored in the traditional technique of reverse painting on glass and had been exhibiting in New York, Monaco, Denmark, Cannes, London, Jerusalem, and Paris.

She is a member of the Salmagundi Art Club in New York.

Ketubah, also called Ketubot (in Aramaic it means « written document») it is a Jewish marriage certificate.

Painting is a question of DNA. Inevitable, Dana could not deviate from family tradition. With a Romanian architect artist mother, the American artist with Brushes in hands, and dreams in mind, she has been walking the winding, yet so precious, path of artistic expression in all its forms. From piano to painting, from science to research, for Dana, there is only one step to take, one note to play … It is by studying the ancestral history that will occur.

Dana’s insatiable creative process is carried away by illumination and calligraphy poetically combine to confirm the most beautiful of promises.

Dana’s work of art is largely inspired by the Venetian pied palette of oils and gold gilding. We get surprised by the materials used, then conquered by the colors and forms and images, and finally by the artists. she sought to incorporate calligraphy, images, symbols… that might allow these works to resonate with some of the emotional and intellectual lucidity of venerated objects.

Dana is now during her blue period. After the New York deep red period, the French Riviera with the Mediterranean Sea and the Blue Sky inspired brilliant colors …. pastel light blue, metallic in transparence or emerald, the passion of the Sunset.

Sophisticated compositions are using techniques of folk genius.

“Astonishing creative work, so talented and emotionally powerful….

… a new art naive modern inspiring Love and Peace …” Royal Monaco Magazine

The artist lives and works in Cannes (France).

« Literally spellbound by this traditional art from the 17th century School of Painting, the artist observes and analyzes forms, volumes, substances, and techniques, she opts for the art of reverse painting and chooses to express it on panels of glass or museum synthetic Cristal Glass. And no matter how fierce the technique makes it one of the most vigorous expressions of art! While some see Dana York’s work as a rereading inspired by the Venetian school, others feel drawn to his personal interpretation of these Ketubah, richly adorned with gilding, writings, and symbolic images. 2014… She then leaves this New York which saw her grow up, for the sun of the Côte d’Azur, she invites pastel blue, metallic tones, emerald green or bright yellow. Obviously, happiness is inspiring for the New York artist. If the works of Dana York place the feeling and the emotional, at the heart of the artwork, almost taking precedence over the technique, we find in her work, an astonishing and daring mixture of tradition and modernity! A new modern art inspiring Love, Tolerance and Peace ».

Gerard Granja Variation Magazine

« Dana York the artist who shines like the sun. This creator of a new genre brings us closer to an ancestral art of iconography. The paradox arises from the use in innovation of selected modern and minimalist themes. Which give back to this remote technique a full rise. Each work is different from the previous one with its own identity and as if in a window that opens onto a fabulous world from dreamlike to the real world. Like Plato’s cave, it symbolizes a miraculous opening to the outside world. Practicing the Gold symbol of the sun which illuminated the Egypt of the god RA of the powerful energy which governs the cycle of man’s labor from twilight to vesper… The silver of the lunar cycle which governs our dreams our evening imagination and restorative sleep Indispensable to human existence. By juggling like a creative magician, she takes us to the border between dream and reality. His enthusiasm, his communication is reflected in his pictorial action where everything is thought out and spontaneous, Remarkable ».  Art Critique Claude Stevens
