IL PRIMO WEB MAGAZINE AL MONDO DI MONACO DIVENUTO CARTACEO.
From the 19th to the 23rd of November, 2012 Nick Danziger and Rory MacLean will be leading an in depth four day writing and photography workshop. Telling a story
through photography or through words is an art, and all art needs practice and guidance in order to develop and improve, this is where they come in.
Both Nick Danziger and Rory MacLean are well accomplished in their respective professions. Nick Danziger is an award winning photo journalist, author and documentary film make whereas Rory
MacLean is a best selling author. Both are them are well aware of the fact that for a story to truly develop there needs to be a conducive environment as well as guides to improve individual
talent.
The workshop will be available to a maximum number of ten participants; both amateurs and professionals are welcome. Participants can be either photographers or writers. The only mandatory
requirement is that there has to be a strong drive to tell a story.
The course itself will cover certain aspects of the art of narration, the skills required to gather material and information, note taking, voice as well as structure. Nick Danziger will use his
own selected photo stories to highlight the key elements behind his method. Rory Maclean on the other hand will be teaching the undeniable significance of writing with honesty and true feelings.
Perhaps one of the most important lessons he will cover is the use of personal experiences to fill creative work with genuine feelings and excitement.
Most of the work will take place on a one to one basis, these discussions will have the specific purpose of drawing out individual skills and talents. This time can also be used to help improve
and refine personal projects that individuals are working on. These works will be critiqued, analyzed, and discussed in depth in order to have the best result possible. This will hopefully
resulted in a better understanding of the skills and techniques required to create a professional and admirable project.
Nick Danziger has extensive experience in the world of photojournalism and his work has won him the prestigious World Press Photo Award for his thirty day work on Tony Blair and George Bush
during the invasion of Iraq. His work is held in museums the world over and is indisputably a gifted storyteller. Rory Maclean has written nine non fiction books which include the UK best sellers
Stalin s Nose, Under the Dragon and Magic Bus. He has travelled the world to provide research for his novels, even going to witness the opening of the Berlin Wall and to met Aung San Suu Kyi
while she was under house arrest in Rangoon.
Together they are a formidable team and the ideal leaders to guide and help any artists trying to tell a story. Sometimes it needs a masterclass to make a masterpiece.
